[ alright...... he's managed to carry the kitten outside the tunnels somewhere quiet since this guy would probably need more light than what's in there to see by. Heine looks disgruntled but also curiously anxious, the downturn of his mouth nervous, and he looks up as he hears footsteps, or some approximation of Chiron's approach. ]
[Chiron never got a name, but that's hardly important. He wastes no time with further pleasantries, and instead closes the gap between himself and Heine quickly.]
[ well.... guess he was just good at going around saving people in general. basically a total opposite of him.
the kitten is curled up on his lap when heine lifts his hands up off her, and she squirms around slightly as the light hits her one good eye, meowing thinly. Heine looks down at it, before lifting it up and handing it over to Chiron. ]
[Chiron leans in to get a better look. The eye is the obvious thing, and god that's an unfortunate cat. Gently, he runs a finger down the kitten's back, and notes that there's too much bone there.]
[ achilles said they're alike, so what do you think it makes heine...............
he really... has no idea about any sort of illness, being the way he is where he is immune to most things, so he's just going to let Chiron do his thing. ]
Ah, well... It's been a while. [ He remembers hunting alongside Chiron as a child, finding wounded animals and tending to them. He seems to have retained more about the hunting bits than the medical training. ]
What can I do to help? [ He'll hover over their shoulders. The kitten is weak and easily manhandled, at least. ]
[ Wait, Heine. He tried to pawn this off on you and now you're making this a joint effort?
This isn't what he intended.
He'll take over, though, taking the kitten and turning it over so that its round belly is facing up. The partridge is left on the ground, free for Heine to start butchering. ]
[ well, he turned up on time........ make yourself useful, asshole.
anyway, heine is crouched down, plucking the feathers off the partridge before he starts cutting it up, but what Chiron says makes him stop abruptly. ]
What? No, you're keeping it. You're the one who found it.
[ u g h don't make him do this....... heine is just going to turn around and finish gutting the partridge, putting the organs to one side before he moves on with de-boning part of the bird so the kitten could eat it. it's still very little, so they might have to just cut it up into tiny pieces... ]
[Chiron sighs at them both, clearly unimpressed with the argument and prefering to just take the kitten in his own hands to give her a better inspection. A bath would help as well, but in truth, what she needs most of all is to be away from the trenches themselves.]
She's a shared responsibility. You will both keep her, or else there's little point in all of this effort.

this guy said you were his teacher and you would know how to help.
no subject
...A name of the student would help too.
no subject
[ okay, that sounds bitchy, but heine isn't happy with it either. he doesn't know how to take care of these things. ]
that cocky one who talks a lot about how great he is.

I'm three minutes away. See you shortly.
no subject
Ah, it's you.
[ the guy who helped him with the cave-in.... ]

[Chiron never got a name, but that's hardly important. He wastes no time with further pleasantries, and instead closes the gap between himself and Heine quickly.]
May I see the patient?

Unsurprisingly, she's dehydrated...

It hasn't eaten anything yet.
[ this is too much trouble..... why ]
I dunno what I'm supposed to get for it.

Can you roll her onto her back, please? I want to check her stomach too.
no subject
So you took my advice. [ To Heine. ]
Hey, Teacher. [ Chiron. He nods. ]
no subject
What else could I do? You dumped it on me.
no subject
[Chiron frowns slightly.]
Most of this you ought to have been able to figure out. Heine, please, if you could humor me here?

Better you than me. [ since... he apparently did learn something like this.
heine pulls a knife from his belt, jerking his chin towards the bird in his hand. ]
Is that for the cat? [ he'll skin it... ]
no subject
I want to be clear: you two are taking this thing back to BASE.
no subject
This isn't what he intended.

Huh? Is that possible?

What the hell? Why should I?
no subject
[There's absolute disapproval in his voice, even as he examines the kitten's stomach.]

with Achilles conveniently occupied with the kitten, Heine has to deal with the brunt of Chiron's disapproving Judgement. ]
I wasn't going to just leave it here...
[ maybe leave it somewhere else?? but it's not like they can find any civilian households here. and he can't just leave it in the trenches...
fuck. ]
no subject
[A plan, boys. Chiron sighs and leans back over to Achilles and the kitten, nodding in quiet approval of the diagnosis.]
Most likely. But the only likely remedy around would be garlic.
no subject
Heine is keeping it.
[ Just... godmodding Heine ICly. That's what Achilles does best. ]
I'll be right back, then. We can mix the meat and organs with water. [ He's getting up to his feet to go do just that. ]
no subject
