Heine looks disgruntled but also curiously anxious, the downturn of his mouth nervous, and he looks up as he hears footsteps, or some approximation of Chiron's approach. ]

the kitten is curled up on his lap when heine lifts his hands up off her, and she squirms around slightly as the light hits her one good eye, meowing thinly. Heine looks down at it, before lifting it up and handing it over to Chiron. ]
[Chiron leans in to get a better look. The eye is the obvious thing, and god that's an unfortunate cat. Gently, he runs a finger down the kitten's back, and notes that there's too much bone there.]
[ achilles said they're alike, so what do you think it makes heine...............
he really... has no idea about any sort of illness, being the way he is where he is immune to most things, so he's just going to let Chiron do his thing. ]
Ah, well... It's been a while. [ He remembers hunting alongside Chiron as a child, finding wounded animals and tending to them. He seems to have retained more about the hunting bits than the medical training. ]
What can I do to help? [ He'll hover over their shoulders. The kitten is weak and easily manhandled, at least. ]

anyway, heine is crouched down, plucking the feathers off the partridge before he starts cutting it up, but what Chiron says makes him stop abruptly. ]

[ u g h don't make him do this....... heine is just going to turn around and finish gutting the partridge, putting the organs to one side before he moves on with de-boning part of the bird so the kitten could eat it. it's still very little, so they might have to just cut it up into tiny pieces... ]
[Chiron sighs at them both, clearly unimpressed with the argument and prefering to just take the kitten in his own hands to give her a better inspection. A bath would help as well, but in truth, what she needs most of all is to be away from the trenches themselves.]
She's a shared responsibility. You will both keep her, or else there's little point in all of this effort.
